CANMT Trip: Roswell Part 2

At the Visitor's Center we were told about a free zoo that was open until 6. That's right...free. Spring River Park and Zoo was small, but it was free. I love free.

Melodie was thrilled to see what she calls the "United States of America eagle". They learned about National symbols in school and even thought she has been told many times that this is a bald eagle she never remembers to call it that.

I loved the peacocks. They were wandering around everywhere.
We thought it would be a good idea to let Mel play in the playground for a few minutes before we went to dinner.
Now we were hungry. We went to Farley's because it was the only place that was kind of sci-fi themed. I was really surprised there weren't more themed places to eat.

We got something called Jack Rabbit Droppings for an appetizer. What a name! It was diced chicken, jalepenos, jack and cheddar cheeses breaded and fried. They were yummy! It was happy hour, so they were cheap. For dinner Rocky and I shared the Double Bueno burger (two burgers served open face on Texas Toast with green chilies and cheese sauce). Melodie had a corn dog.

I have a thing for themed bathroom door signs

After dinner we went to check in at our hotel. It was right across the street! We didn't know this before, but there it was, one minute away. Right to bed (well, after reading the free Avengers comic I got at check-in).
