CANMT Trip: Dallas Heritage Village

We got up, packed, said goodbye to the Hunts, drove away and then I looked at my binder of plans. Something suddenly clicked and I asked Rocky, "What day is it?" We really weren't sure and had to look at the date on his phone. I had the wrong date! I was off on my days and we weren't actually suppose to leave until the next day. Doh! We turned around (luckily we were still in the neighborhood) and asked Stephanie if we could stay another night. If not, it would have been fine. We would have gotten a head start on our drive back. She said it would be great and we went into Dallas to surprise Jeremy. We picked him up and ate lunch (thankfully he was glad we could stay another night). After he went back to work, we went to the Dallas Heritage Village. This was a place where pioneer and Victorian homes and buildings were moved to. We enjoyed looking inside houses and a school.
But it was hot and the kids were tiring quickly. We made our way to the Main Street area where we hoped on a cart pulled by mules.

After the ride we went to the general store...the best thing in the village for two reasons. First, it had air conditioning. Second, there were things for the kids to play with.

We had cooled off enough and were ready to explore a few more buildings before closing.

We met Jeremy for dinner at Rosa's Cafe. We had our first sopapilla here. It was a dessert one and so good.
