CANMT Trip: A Relaxing Day

We spent our first day in Murphy at the Gamlen house finishing laundy, preparing for Easter, playing, talking and doing "normal" things. We needed this. Especially Melodie. Jason, who is the same age as Melodie, had Spring Break earlier. Luckily, he had Good Friday off from school so we could spend more time with him too.
First the kids decorated Easter eggs. Before our trip Melodie was very concerned whether or not we'd get to do this. "Do they decorate eggs in Texas?" she asked. I assured her that they did and called Jennifer who said they would wait for us to dye eggs.

After lunch we went for forzen yogurt place called Yogurtville. I've never been to a frozen yogurt place like it. It was self serve and they charged by the weight of your cup at the end of filling it with frozen yogurt and toppings. There was a large variety of flavors, so we sampled a lot and put smaller helpings of kinds we liked in our cup. Melodie loved that she could get more than one topping. Since the price is determined by weight she got a small amount of many kinds of toppings. The frozen yogurt was a yummy treat.
We went to the Dollar Store to pick up an Easter bag for Cassie and Melodie to match the one Jason had. Even though I had brought her Easter basket, we thought bags would be easier for the hunt we'd be going to on Saturday. Just like every trip to the Dollar Store, we bought more than we originally intended to. We bought bunny ears and water guns for the kids. Those water guns were played with for the rest of the afternoon in the backyard.

Rocky BBQd for dinner. After the kids went to bed Jennifer and Josh taught us a new-to-us card game called hand and foot. So fun! By the way, did I mention Rocky made a new best friend? The Gamlen's dog, Murphy, LOVED Rocky.
